About Richard
DEDICATED ROTARIAN MEMBER OF THE ROTARY CLUB OF WOLVERHAMPTON
Richard Green – Team Leader
Age – 69
Home Town – Wolverhampton
Occupation – Retired
After a very brave fight, I lost my wife to cancer in July 2008. Since then I have filled my life with a close and active family, a dedication to Rotary and the theatre company that we founded 12 years ago.
I worked as a director on major construction projects in the UK, Pakistan, the Middle East and Scandinavia, retiring in 2005.
Interests and hobbies – In the theatre world, I have a passion for acting and direction and have won a number of awards because I’ve always heeded the advice of our great master of the theatre, Noel Coward, who, when being asked the secret of great acting, said ‘remember your lines and don’t bump into the furniture.’
I am equally passionate about the wonderful things achieved by Rotarians. I serve as District 1210’s Humanitarian Programmes Chairman; in 2009 I was a mentor at our RYLA camp in August, and I produced all the entertainment in the House of Friendship at the 100th RI Birmingham Convention in June. I am a Director of IFRM – the International Fellowship of Rotarian Musicians and I am Vice President of the Rotary Club of Wolverhampton, currently Chairman of the club Foundation Committee.
Favourite Food – anything cooked by somebody else!
If I had one wish – Of course, there’s one obvious wish, but if we could all be kind to one another in the world that would make me very happy.
